TRAFALGAR COTTAGE

As with Victory Cottage, Trafalgar Cottage was once a 17th-century pub and presented a unique challenge: to transform a Grade II listed property into a holiday let that could also adapt easily for future sale. Working entirely remotely, I oversaw a complete renovation within a short timescale and a carefully managed budget — balancing heritage sensitivities with the need for comfort and flexibility.

The clients requested a minimal approach so the interiors would remain versatile for potential resale. I worked with this brief to keep the design pared back, while still introducing subtle naval references and re-purposed furniture and artwork from the building’s past. Traditional elements were layered with a cleaner, more modern aesthetic, resulting in a retreat that feels warm and characterful, yet adaptable and practical — perfectly suited to its new life as a sought-after Cotswolds getaway.
