Welcome to
Girona & Barcelona
Whilst the Wedding Party will be held in the Girona Hills, it would be super easy to turn it into a longer holiday and add a few days in Girona and Barcelona.
Get in the mood.
We opted for this accommodation because of our love for the area and Spanish culture in general, and it’s an incredible space where we can celebrate with friends.
We’ll provide accommodation to those invited for the duration, but may ask for a small contribution closer to the time. This would be so that we can ensure that the stay as special as possible for everybody. It will be less than £40 pp per night, so please don’t panic!

The villa is a former farmhouse, with multiple rooms and communal areas. There’s an outdoor pool, and grounds that lead into hikes in the surrounding hills, as well as a few surprises…
-
The farmhouse was recently renovated (bearing in mind Amy is happy with it and she is painfully fussy about interiors) and each room comes with its own private bathroom. Towels for internal use are provided, however toiletries aren’t provided, so be sure to bring shower gel, shampoo and conditioner etc.
We’ll allocate rooms beforehand, there’s a large double bed in each room.
-
We’ve got caterers for all breakfasts and dinners, we’ll coordinate about lunches nearer the time.
-
Closer to the time, we’ll set up a group WhatsApp chat for all the finer details.
Hints & Tips
We love, love, LOVE both of these cities, and have a huge long list of tips for things to do in both.
If you want any advice, or want to discuss whether it’s worth extending just give either of us a call.
Flights
Both Girona and Barcelona have airports however, Girona is closer to the accommodation and often has cheaper flights.
We would recommend flying into Girona, and back from Barcelona if you’re planning on adding a couple of days.
Hire Car / Taxis
The accommodation is around 25 minutes from Girona airport.
We imagine most people will get a hire car, which will allow them to go out during spare time and explore the local areas. It makes sense for people to car pool, to reduce cost and the amount of cars - we’ll leave this to you but if you need any help, just let us know!
We’re sure you can also get a taxi, but we’ve done no research on that. Soz.
Trains
Because of Jamie’s love of trains, we had to include this section.
If you’re travelling between Barcelona and Girona, by train is a great way to do so. Tickets cost around €12 per person, and the journey takes around 40 minutes if you get a fast service. They’re super frequent, and both train stations are centrally located in each city.
Temps de Flors
During our time at the villa, there’s a special flower festival taking place called Temps de Flors. It’s an annual celebration, where there are floral installations woven through the streets of Girona’s old town. We’ve been before in 2018 and thought it was really impressive. We’ll try to ensure there is enough free time during the stay for people to go and explore whilst based at the accommodation.
from our archives…
From Tibadabo, and Temps de Flors, to Montjuic and Camp Nou.
So much to explore, all with an Estrella in hand.

If you’ve made it this far, you’ve unlocked a bonus round: Girona’s famous Game of Thrones filming locations…
